Since its launch in 2014, the Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA program in Indonesia has reached more than 24.2 million boys and girls across the country. In 2023, Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Indonesia also launched a series of 3-on-3 basketball tournaments for boys and girls in Jakarta and Surabaya.
Additionally, Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Coaches Academy – the program’s government-supported initiative which aims to enhance local basketball development by establishing standards, guidelines, and best practices for youth coaches – has trained over 53,000 teachers from more than 48,000 schools in 25 cities across Indonesia, with stops in Jakarta, East Java, West Java, South Sumatra, Yogyakarta and more.
