Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA International programs connect and inspire people around the world, expanding into an array of new spaces, through the power of basketball. Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA International is a youth basketball initiative that provides development for youth players, coaches, and referees. Through the NBA regional offices, Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA International programs are available in person and online and active in over 170 countries. Some programs are themed to enhance basketball delivery to a variety of communities and committing to ongoing social responsibility. 

Jr.NBA/ Jr. WNBA International Programs

Jr.NBA/ Jr. WNBA Clinic

Jr.NBA/ Jr. WNBA Clinics are youth-based programming focusing on fundamental skills (shooting, passing, dribbling, defense, etc.). The clinics are structured to enhance the participants basketball skills, through the Jr.NBA/ Jr. WNBA Curriculum, while also gaining insights into Jr.NBA/ Jr. WNBA values. 

Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Coaches Clinic

A Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Coaches Clinic is a one to four-hour professional development session to enhance youth basketball coaches’ skills and knowledge. They occasionally feature guest coaches and current or former NBA coaches as clinicians. These clinics can occur in person or online. 

Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Referees Clinic

A Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Referees Clinic is a specialized training event or workshop led by NBA Referee Development where current referees or individuals interested in becoming referees or can learn and improve their skills. Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Referees Clinics generally feature on-court and classroom instruction. These clinics can occur in person or online. 

Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA League

An International Jr. NBA League is an organized basketball league for boys and girls generally aged 10-14. Like the NBA, Jr. NBA Leagues can have a combination of the below season structure:

  • Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA League Draft
  • Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA League
  • Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA League Playoffs
  • Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA League Finals
Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Coaches Academy

The Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Coaches Academy is a 1 or 2 day program designed to provide coaches and educators the tools to implement basketball games and training into their physical education classes.

Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA In-School Program

A Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA In-School Program is a partnership with local schools and/or Ministries of Education in which local basketball coaches and Physical Education teachers use the Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Coaches Academy curriculum to teach the fundamentals of basketball within their classes.

Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Tournament

A Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Tournament is a structured competition that provides Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA partner schools, clubs and coaches with a first-rate competitive team experience. Participating teams and schools are placed into an elimination bracket culminating in a championship game. Tournaments can take place over one or several days.

Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Skills Challenge

The Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Skills Challenge is an organized basketball skill competition for boys and girls ages 6-14, where players compete in various games and drills centered around fundamental basketball skills.

Her Time To Play

Her Time To Play International is one of the various themed Jr.NBA/ Jr. WNBA programs that increases opportunities for girls and women in leadership, across the youth basketball landscape, with a focus on basketball participation among female players, coaches, referees, mentors, and administrators.
