Staying Calm on the Sidelines

Celtics head coach Brad Stevens has learned that a calm demeanor on the sidelines helps his team focus on the game.

Stevens shares here that one of the things he’s learned as a coach is that he operates best when he’s focused on the game and what he can do to control the outcome. That means maintaining a calm demeanor on the sideline and not dwelling on things like perceived bad calls. The easiest way for him to “fix” things when they aren’t going the way he wants during a game is to stay an even keel and not get too worked up. This also gives the team the message that they should stay calm and in control during hard times on the court.
