Showing Players You Care Beyond the Court

Pro basketball player turned FOX Sports 1 commentator, Stephen Bardo, on coaches establishing and conducting study hall.

In this clip, Bardo talks about how coaches can show their players that they care about them as people and not just athletes. One way is for a coach to arrange study halls and bring in tutors to assist those who need extra help. Even if the study hall does not result in all players completing all schoolwork for the day, the coach’s effort sends a message to players that they are cared for in multiple areas beyond their athletic prowess.
