Respect for the Game

The Jr. NBA is committed to improving the youth basketball experience for all and ensuring the game is being played the right way at the grassroots level! We’re excited to launch our new Jr. NBA Respect for the Game initiative to promote healthy and respectful relationships between players, coaches, parents and referees.

The Jr. NBA Respect for the Game initiative includes content, resources, and live events to promote a positive youth sports culture and advance the Jr. NBA’s core values of teamwork, determination, respect, and community.

  • Officials

Jr. NBA Respect for the Game represents an increased commitment to the development of youth basketball officials.

Jr. NBA referee camps and forums include technical training and rules education, and provide an opportunity for current and aspiring referees to learn from NBA officials and each other. Referee education also includes an emphasis on mental wellness and healthy interactions with spectators, coaches, parents, and players.
