Thank you for your interest in the Jr. NBA! Below please find the terms of your registration.  We look forward to working with you to bring the Jr. NBA to as many youth as possible. By clicking the “I ACCEPT” button, you agree to these Terms of Registration.

For Organizations:

Eligibility: The Jr. NBA Program (“Program”) is open to clubs, schools, leagues and organization (each, an “Organization”) with a minimum of fifty (50) children between the ages of 6-14, who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia, or Canada (for a list of Jr. NBA programs in counties outside of the United States and Canada, please click here).   A school administrator, teacher, coach, administrative director, or other similar professional (each, an “Authorized Representative”) who is a legal resident of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia or Canada and is twenty-one (21) years of age or older must complete the registration. The Authorized Representative will be responsible for securing any necessary Club/School/Organizations permissions and insurance. Any materials as part of this Program will be awarded to the Organization identified on the Official Registration Form and not the actual Authorized Representative. The Jr. NBA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to not approve or void any and all registrations that are in violation of local laws or these Terms of Registration.

Contact and Other Benefits: After a registration has been received by the Jr. NBA, the Organization will be contacted within five (5) business days by a representative from the Jr. NBA to welcome the Organization and to verify identity.  In addition, in the future and at the discretion of the Jr. NBA, we plan for Organizations to have access to:

  • A national network of Jr. NBA events;
  • Discount uniform offers, discounted coach licensing from USA Basketball as well as professional development opportunities for coaches and administrators;
  • Opportunities for appearances from NBA and WNBA players and legends; and
  • Limited grant funding.

Releases/Waivers: For each child participating in an Organization’s Jr. NBA activities a waiver/release authorizing the child’s participating in the Program and releasing the Program from liability is required to be signed by the child’s parent or legal guardian.  Organizations must retain the waivers/releases in their records for a period of at least three (3) years and produce them at the request of the Jr. NBA.

All Authorized Representatives and Organizations consent to the use by the Jr. NBA, and their sponsors, affiliates, designees and any of their respective related entities of their name, voice, city, state of residence, biographical information, photograph, and/or other visual likeness for advertising and/or trade purposes and/or for the purpose of posting on NBA.com, TV or radio broadcasts and/or for any other purpose in any media or format now or hereafter know worldwide in perpetuity without compensation, permission or notification.

In addition, the Jr. NBA, the NBA and NBA Properties, Inc. (“NBAP”) shall be released, will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless against any liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind (whether due to negligence or otherwise) to person(s), including death, or property, resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any materials, or participation in this Program.

THE JR. NBA, NBA, AND NBAP DO NOT IN ANY WAY CONTROL OR OPERATE ANY REGISTERED ORGANIZATION OR ANY ACTIVITIES OF THE ORGANIZATION, INCLUDING ANY ACTIVITIES OF ANY R. NBA LEAGUE OR TEAM.

Representations and Warranties: Each Organization represents that it (and not the Jr. NBA, NBA or NBAP) is solely responsible for (i) the day-to-day operations of the its league, team, etc.; (ii) arranging for all league and team facilities and equipment; (iii) hiring and supervising all league and team personnel and officials, including but not limited to certifying background checks have been secured on all Organization employees and volunteers who have any contact with children; and (iv) carrying adequate insurance generally commensurate with like organizations and activities.

Sharing of Data: The Jr. NBA intends to share data from the Organizations’ registrations with the NBA teams, USA Basketball and Jr. NBA vendor partners working on the website or the Program.

Disputes/Choice of Law: Except where prohibited, all issues and questions concerning these Terms of Registration shall be governed by New York law without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law of any jurisdiction.

For Parents:

Eligibility: The Jr. NBA Program (“Program”) is open to parents who wish to register their children between the ages of 6-14, who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia, or Canada (for a list of Jr. NBA programs in counties outside of the United States and Canada, please click here).   Registrations must be completed by a parent or legal guardian of the child or children who must be a legal resident of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia or Canada and at least twenty-one (21) years of age or older (the “Parent”). The Jr. NBA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, not to approve or void any registration in violation of local laws or these Terms of Registration.

Representations and Warranties: Parent represents that he/she is in fact that parent or legal guardian of the child or children that he/she is registering.  Parent also acknowledges and fully understands that participation in basketball may result in serious injuries, and, among other things, exposure to the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and any resulting disease (together with any mutation, adaptation or variation thereof, “COVID-19”) and hereby waives, releases, absolves, indemnifies, and agrees to hold harmless the Jr. NBA, NBA, NBAP, and their sponsors and affiliates, from any claim ARISING FROM their CHILD(REN)’S participation in JR. NBA-related activities.

Each Parent acknowledges that leagues and teams participating in the Program are not operated or controlled by the Jr. NBA, the NBA or NBAP, and that the individual local organizations (and not the Jr. NBA, NBA or NBAP) are responsible for (i) the day-to-day operations of the league, team, etc., (ii) arranging for all league and team facilities and equipment, (iii) hiring and supervising all persons involved in their Jr. NBA-related activities, including but not limited to coaches, officials, and other league and team personnel, and certifying that appropriate background checks have been completed; and (iv) the carriage of adequate insurance.
