The Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA is committed to supporting the youth basketball activities of members of the NBA family, including our teams, players, and coaches. As part of this ongoing effort, the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA will offer resources to support current and former NBA/WNBA/G League players and coaches who host youth basketball camps in the U.S.
To be eligible for support from the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA, a camp hosted by a NBA/WNBA/G League player or coach must align with the values of the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA – teaching the fundamentals of the game; emphasizing the importance of teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship; and, promoting healthy living while having fun. Additionally, to be eligible for Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA support a camp must either be free of charge to attend for local youth or all net proceeds from the camp must be donated to a nonprofit organization. Applications for the 2024 Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Camp Support are now closed.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA support, a camp must:
- Be hosted by one of the following:
- Current NBA, WNBA, or G League player
- Former NBA, WNBA player or G League player
- Current NBA, WNBA, or G League coach (head or assistant)
- Offer a minimum of four (4) hours of activities (either on a single day or over multiple days)
- Be organized and attended by the player or coach on each day of camp
- Not serve as a source of revenue for the player, coach, and any for-profit entity
- Be free of charge for all participants or donate all net proceeds to a 501c3 nonprofit entity if there is a fee for campers to attend
- Maintain proper insurance and have appropriate risk management policies
- Serve no more than 500 campers, ages 6-14
LEVELS OF SUPPORT
The Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA offers to provide three levels of support to eligible camps – “Player-branded” support; “Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA-branded” support; and “Her Time To Play-branded” support. Each NBA/WNBA/G League player/coach can select the level of support that works best for their camp.
- Player Branded Camp Support
- This option is recommended for players/coaches who are primarily utilizing their own brand to market and outfit their camp, while leveraging select additional resources provided by the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA.
- Up to $1,500 worth of equipment, merchandise, and materials including:
- Wilson basketballs (size 5, 6, or 7)
- Select items for prizes/giveaways (examples of items include: drawstring bags, mini hoops, notepads, towels)
- NBA training cones
- Coach Items (whistle/lanyards, clipboards)
- Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA basketball camp curriculum and best practice guidelines for your voluntary use
- Note: Exact support is subject to availability. There will be limited quantities of what we can provide of certain items. Maximum quantity of any item provided is up to 30.
- Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA-Branded Camp Support
- This option is recommended for players/coaches who do not have a primary brand and are looking to fully leverage the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA to help outfit their camp. Campers, players, and coaches will be provided Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA apparel and the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA must be recognized through social media platforms.
- Based on camp need, up to $3,000 worth of equipment, merchandise, and materials. Items provided may include:
- Wilson basketballs (size 5, 6, or 7)
- Drawstring bags
- Jr. NBA T-shirts
- Coach Items (Jr. NBA polos, whistle/lanyards, clipboards)
- Jr. NBA basketball camp curriculum and best practice guidelines for your voluntary use
- Access to the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA logo to use in promoting your camp (subject to logo usage guidelines provided by the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA)
- Provide photos/videos from camp after completion (potential to be featured on @JrNBA social media platforms)
- Note: Exact support is subject to availability. The Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA will work to identify each camp’s specific needs to tailor the support accordingly, so not all camp support will look exactly the same.
- Her Time To Play-Branded Camp Support
- This option is recommended for players/coaches who are focused on the development of young girls through the sport of basketball and are running an all-girls camp. Campers, players, and coaches will be provided Her Time To Play apparel, and the Jr. NBA and WNBA must be recognized through social media platforms.
- Based on camp need, up to $1,500 worth of equipment, merchandise, and materials. Items provided may include:
- Her Time To Play T-shirts
- Her Time To Play Headbands
- Whistles with lanyards
- WNBA Wilson size 6 basketballs
- Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA basketball camp curriculum and best practice guidelines for your voluntary use
- Access to the Jr. NBA/Jr. WWNBA and WNBA logos to use in promoting your camp (subject to logo usage guidelines provided by the Jr. NBA/Jr.> WNBA)
- Promotion of your camp on Jr. NBA social media platforms
*To ensure that we’re creating the best camp experience possible, the Jr. NBA will conduct follow-ups with all camps approved for Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA-branded and Her Time To Play-branded support and will continue to work closely with a representative from each organization through the planning and execution stages. Failure to adhere to the requirements will make a camp ineligible to receive future support.
APPLICATION DETAILS
- Applications for 2025 will reopen in Spring 2025
- Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA staff will review applications on a rolling basis between Spring 2025 and September 30, 2025
- Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA staff will make grant decisions within 10 business days of receipt of the application (please email JrNBA@nba.com if you do not receive a response within 10 days)
- Products will be shipped to the address provided within 5-7 business days of a camp being approved for a grant (unless otherwise requested)
