Jr. NBA League

NBA orchestrates eight leagues across different provinces annually, commencing in November and concluding in June. Each provincial competition includes a minimum of twelve boys’ teams and six girls’ teams. Every team comprises at least 12 players. The schedules vary from one province to another.

 

 

2023-24 Jr. NBA League

Jr. NBA Shanghai League

The Jr. NBA Shanghai league marks the beginning of the Jr. NBA season each year, starting in early November. This season saw participation from 12 boys’ and 6 girls’ high school teams, competing in a single round-robin group stage featuring home and away games. Spanning four months, the season culminated in a championship match held at the Shanghai Indoor Gymnasium, captivating a live audience of 2,800 spectators and 21 million online viewers.

Jr. NBA Beijing League

NBA Beijing League is targeted to take place between May and June 2024, competing in single round-robin group stage.

Jr. NBA Guangdong League

The Jr. NBA Guangdong League, commencing in January 2024, showcased competition among 12 boys’ and 6 girls’ high school basketball teams. The boys’ teams battled it out in a semi-final round, employing a round-robin format with both home and away games to select the finalists. The climactic finals were hosted at the Asian Games Gymnasium of Guangzhou Sport University, attracting a live audience of 3,300 people and an impressive online viewership of 10.5 million.

Jr. NBA Sichuan League

The Jr. NBA Sichuan League kicked off with an exciting tournament in Chengdu, setting the stage for two victorious teams from this event to advance to the provincial league. There, they competed against other formidable teams from across Sichuan province. This particular event featured 24 high school teams, comprising both boys and girls, and attracted over 3,000 live spectators, along with a substantial online viewership of 4.58 million.

Jr. NBA Liaoning League

NBA Liaoning league is set to take place at the end of April 2024.

Jr. NBA Shaanxi League

NBA Shaanxi league is targeted to take place in May 2024.

Jr. NBA Jiangsu League

The Jr. NBA Jiangsu League concluded with round-robin, home-and-away finals, following two weeks of intense group stage competition. The finals were uniquely held on the respective school campuses, allowing for a significant home crowd and alumnus player from pro league presence in the gym. This approach fostered a vibrant and supportive atmosphere for the players. The event was well-received, drawing 3,000 on-site spectators and capturing the attention of 2.5 million online viewers.

Jr. NBA Jilin League

NBA Jilin League happened against 3 years later, welcoming 12 boys and 6 girls teams to compete in the tournament. The boys’ teams battled it out in the finals, employing a round-robin format with both home and away games within respective schools to determine the championship. The entire event attracted 5.8 million viewership online and 3,000 onsite audiences.

Jr. NBA Greater Bay Invitational Tournament

The Jr. NBA Greater Bay Invitational Tournament brought together 14 high school and 11 middle school teams from various cities within the Greater Bay area. This inclusive event welcomed teams from Hong Kong and Macau across all divisions. Held in Shenzhen from December 14th to 17th, 2023, the tournament also featured the “Her Time to Play” chalk talk, aimed at inspiring and empowering young female athletes. The finals of the event captivated a significant online audience, attracting 4.8 million viewers.
