Jr. NBA Tournament

Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Cape Town Tournament

In July 2023, a two-day tournament and Jr. NBA Clinic were hosted in Cape Town. The events featured 14 boys’ teams, 10 girls’ teams and a clinic engaging 70 participants ages 10 – 16. The winners in the girls’ division were the Shaq Squad, with the Montana Vikings winning the boys’ division.

Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Kinshasa Tournament

The NBA Africa team in partnership with ADS Solektra unveiled a new solar-powered court in Kinshasa DRC on July 1, 2023. This unveiling was followed by a Jr. NBA Tournament involving 250 local youth participants.

Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Cairo Tournament

From May 10th – 18th, 48 teams from 17 international schools competed in a 3X3 Jr. NBA Tournament in partnership with Allianz which saw direct participation of over 200 local youth and engaged and an additional 110 coaches, administrators and referees.

Nigeria

As part of our community outreach efforts, several clinics were held across Nigeria engaging over 6,400 local youth participants throughout 2023.

South Africa

 In 2023, through court unveiling events, partnerships, community outreach, Her Time To Play (HTTP) programs and clinics in South Africa engaged over 13,000 youth participants.

Senegal

During the 2024 Basketball Africa League’s Sahara Conference in Dakar, Senegal, several Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA clinics were conducted that impacted 650 youth from the country.

Ghana

In March 2023, an all-girls clinic was conducted in Accra, Ghana, during U.S. Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff’s visit to the region. The clinic involved 60 girls from the local community.

Egypt

Through various events including the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA League, Her Time To Play clinics and the Basketball Africa League, numerous Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA clinics were hosted in Egypt in 2023 and involved a total of 1,462 youth.

Tanzania

As part of the conclusion of the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Tanzania League in 2023, a clinic was conducted on the day of the finals involving 147 local youth participants.

DRC

In July 2023, NBA Africa launched a court in Kinshasa and hosted a clinic on the day of the unveiling, the clinic involved 60 local youth.

In 2023, a series of Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA clinics were held throughout the year in Rwanda. These clinics amassed a total participation number of 1,172 local youth.
