NBA All-Star 2020

The Jr. NBA presented by Under Armour will celebrate youth basketball at NBA All-Star 2020 in Chicago and host a series of on-court competitions and off-court programming, including a Skills Challenge, Respect for the Game Forum, 3v3 tournament, and Her Time To Play panel session.

All youth participants for events at Navy Pier will receive free access to NBA Crossover, an intimate space showcasing the convergence of the NBA & pop culture through art, fashion, music, technology & entertainment that surround today’s game.

  • Respect For The Game

    Coaches and youth basketball stakeholders will hear from trained professionals on best practices and strategies for creating atmospheres of inclusion for young athletes. Attendees will discuss important topics around diversity with members of the NBA family and will receive resources to help make an impact.

  • Skills Challenge
    The Jr. NBA Skills Challenge presented by Under Armour is a national competition that provides boys and girls, ages 9-13, the opportunity to showcase their fundamentals through a dribbling, shooting, and rebounding competition. Participants will compete to win an all-expense paid trip to compete at the National Finals in New York during the 2020 NBA Draft.

    Time: 12:45 pm – 3:15 pm

    Who Is Eligible: Boys and Girls, 11U and 13U

  • 3v3 Tournament

    The Jr. NBA 3v3 All-Star Tournament is a 3-on-3 weekend competition for boys and girls ages 10-13 to determine a regional champion in each age division and gender. 11U, 12U, and 13U/8th Grade winners will represent the state of Illinois and qualify to compete at the National Championship scheduled on April 4 in Indianapolis, IN.

    Date: Sunday, February 16

    Registration: 8:00 am – 8:45 am

    Time: 9:00 am – 12:30 pm

    Note: Bracket play will begin at 1:30 pm following Pool Play. There will be a Respect for the Game leadership development session for all participating players, coaches, and parents taking place at 12:45 pm.

    Who Is Eligible: Boys and Girls, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U/8th Grade

    Registration Fee: $40 per team (5 player max)

  • Her Time To Play

    The WNBA and NBA recognize the valuable role sports can play in the development of young girls and the advancement of women as leaders in society.  Her Time To Play (HTTP) is an initiative dedicated to inspiring girls across the country to learn and play basketball in a positive and healthy way and championing for increased opportunities for women in coaching and athletic leadership.  The platform provides a forum for females to connect, collaborate, celebrate achievements and play basketball.

    During NBA All-Star 2020, female trailblazers and male allies will convene to discuss how society can address the gender gap that currently exists in sports and ensure equal participation by women and girls.
