2021 Jr. NBA Conference powered by Under Armour: May 18-19

The Jr. NBA Conference powered by Under Armour, an annual gathering of the youth basketball community, will take place this year as a two-day virtual forum from May 18-19 from 1-4 p.m. ET each day. The event, hosted by ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, reinforces the NBA’s commitment to connecting the global youth basketball community and to developing holistic and sustainable programming that positively impacts young people both on and off the court.

The event is free to attend for coaches, program administrators, referees, partners and parents around the world and across all levels of the game who are focused on creating positive change in youth and grassroots basketball. This year, attendees must register for access to the event, which will be hosted via Juno’s virtual conference platform.

This interactive experience will include opportunities such as:

  • Interactive coaching development breakout sessions with NBA and NBA G League coaches
  • Networking with diverse stakeholders across the youth basketball landscape
  • Exclusive access to content on topics including access and equity, program development, youth leadership and social justice, and advancing the women’s game
  • Earn points to win prizes from the Jr. NBA

Hear how young athletes are already charting their own paths and building their own platforms as influencers of their peers and future generations of youth basketball players.

Help prepare your student-athletes improve learning outcomes and succeed in the classroom by pairing their passion for sports with a motivation for learning. This session is great for school and program administrators seeking to learn more about available tools and resources to help navigate complex eligibility requirements and help student-athletes meet academic standards.

Basketball For All: Ensuring Access & Equity

The pandemic exposed existing opportunity gaps in youth sports and proved that not everyone is afforded access to equitable experiences. Join Olympian Benita Fitzgerald-Mosley and leaders from community-based sports initiatives for a candid conversation on ways to eliminate barriers to sports participation and level the playing field.

A Discussion on Inclusion: Transgender Identity & Experiences in Sports

Anne Lieberman of Athlete Ally and Phoenix Mercury forward Brianna Turner lead an informational session on transgender participation in youth sports. They will offer an overview of what it means to be Trans and share personal stories about why the issue is so important.

This session is for coaches and parents who want to develop a better understanding of the rules of the game and the ins and outs of officiating youth basketball.
